Using Mitsubishi Software V6.0 from the 16pin obd2 connector .Tried entering vehicle  manually and generic OBD2 mode without success . Had to use my Harbor Freight Centec code scanner to the retrieve codes and view the data.
Image of VIN # Autel needs to address this problem, thank you.

Tried the 908 P on it it again yesterday , but, this time  started off with a manual selection , then I went to auto scan and it worked fine however the entire time the VCI had communication with the vehicle, the ABS lamp was flashing on the instrument cluster and a relay could be heard clicking to the ABS lamp like a turn signal flasher. Can't say for sure it was solely caused by the Maxi Flash Elite, the MS908 P software or something to do with the vehicle has an aftermarket alarm wired in . Nothing burned or broke that I could tell.

More than two years later with latest software version 7.91 loaded on my MS908P , it is still unable to decode a manually entered VIN # of a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It was unable to communicate with engine controller with regular OBD2 cable or using the 12 or 16 pin Mitsubishi adapter. It did pull the P0455 gross evap leak code in generic OBD2 mode , but in generic OBD 2 mode it's not able to test actuate things like the purge and vent solenoids, so  disgusted I let it go after a quick look beneath didn't reveal a cause.
I wish there was an option to bypass entering RO numbers before it will allow you to start a scan on a vehicle. I work from home and do not have Repair orders with numbers RO #s to enter, so would like to circumvent that requirement.

Hey Wits, I'm not sure but I don't think that car has bi-directional controls built in to the
computer system. I just looked at the service manual and nowhere in it does it tell you
to actuate any components with the scan tool. Those Mitz's were really basic back
then, and still are for that matter.

I tried using the 12 pin and 16 pin sides of the Hyundai /Mitsubishi adapter ( using the 12 pin one required hooking up the external power source for the Maxi Flash Pro VCI) It was only able to see the airbag system passed.
I know that the 2.0 engine and ECU looked alot like Chrysler sh@t  to me so I even tried to see if it might scan it IDing it as a 99 Dodge Neon, but that didn't work either, LOL.

I'm not sure I'll ever see the same vehicle again or want to   . There were some structural integrity, and other safety  issues caused by ravages of rust that made it impossible to find any way to safely support the vehicle on stands.
